You can create a screen recording in Microsoft Stream and have the video upload directly to Stream for only members of your organization to view instantly!
Log into your Office 365 account and navigate to Microsoft Stream. Stream is a secure video service where only members of your organization can view your videos. In Stream, you can Discover others’ videos, view and organize your videos under My content, and Create videos with the screen recorder and upload videos.
Record with Screen Recorder
Click on Create and select Screen Recorder. This will launch a window where you can select your camera and microphone source, and start recording! After a three second countdown, you will start recording. You can pause and resume your recording to create a screen recording of a maximum of 15 minutes.
When you are done recording, click the Stop Sharing button. You can review your video and here you can decide to record a new video or upload it to Stream.
Upload and Share Your Screen Recording
When you decide your recording is upload-worthy, click on the Upload to Stream button. This will start the upload process to Stream. You can edit details of the video including the title of your video, description of the video, video language, and whether or not to allow everyone in your organization to view your video. Click the Publish button during the processing time to make it available to everyone in your organization once processing is completed. If you don’t want to make the video available yet, click on the Save as Draft button and publish your video later.
Ideas for implementation:
Stream’s Screen Recording feature is great to create a variety of videos and include a recording of you talking embedded right in the video. There’s amazing value of including a video of you talking, so include it every time!
Step up your Stream videos by embedding Microsoft Forms throughout for those amazing formative assessment questions. Check out more: Add a survey, poll, or quiz to a Microsoft Stream video
