Summer Winrotte

Summer graduated from Purdue University with a Bachelor of Science in Secondary Mathematics Education, and is currently working towards a Master of Science in Education in Learning Design and Technology.  She began her teaching career at Twin Lakes High School, where she taught various math courses (Grade 9 Remedial Math, Math Lab, Algebra 1, and Geometry).  After teaching high school for six years, she decided to teach at the junior high level (Grade 7 Pre-Algebra, Grade 8 Pre-Algebra, Algebra 1, and Honors Geometry).  She is in her 11th year of teaching, and her third year as Digital Instructional Coach.  In her role as Digital Instructional Coach, she trains school staff on digital learning and technology integration.  She also researches innovative classroom technologies, software, and web 2.0 tools used to improve student learning, instruction facilitation, and teacher productivity.  Summer enjoys teaming up with teachers to help them reach for the stars, while encouraging them to engage in facilitating learning with innovative tools and technologies.

Summer is a Microsoft Innovative Educator Expert, Microsoft Surface Expert, Microsoft Master Trainer, and Certified Microsoft Educator.   Other than K-12 education, Summer’s hobbies include antiquing, sewing, and baking (especially when it involves family and friends).  She believes in having one non-techie hobby for every techie-hobby!  Life is balance.
