Felisa Ford
Felisa is a veteran educator with over twenty years of experience. She started her career as a high school Social Studies teacher . Felisa comes to us with a wealth of knowledge and educational experiences including: Social Studies Department Chair, Curriculum Assistant Principal, Interim High School Principal, and K-12 Social Studies Coordinator. Currently, Felisa serves as a Digital Learning Specialist for Atlanta Public Schools where she gets to combine all of her passions: technology, professional learning, and social studies.
One of Felisa’s strengths is being a learner which is why she is always willing to share her knowledge and skills to help others learn and grow. As a Digital Learning Specialist, Felisa provides professional learning and training for teachers and students in her district. She loves to share tools and resources that help to create an engaging 21st Century learning environment including the use of 21st Century Skills.
Felisa is a Microsoft Innovative Educator Expert, Minecraft Global Mentor, Google Certified Educator, Buncee Ambassador, and Wakelet Ambassador to name a few. She has facilitated several MIE Cohorts in Atlanta Public Schools and has provided training and support for educators both nationally and globally as a way to promote the Microsoft Educator Program. Felisa is a co-author of the Microsoft Infused Classroom: A Guidebook to Making Thinking Visible and Amplifying Student Voice. Additionally, Felisa is the co-author of the Minecraft Good Trouble Lessons- Lessons rooted in Social Justice Movements and helping students to build a better world. Felisa has her Ed.S. in Instructional Technology.
Felisa lives in Atlanta, GA with her husband “Bo” and their children Madison and Bryson. She enjoys spending time with her family and supporting her children dreams.
