Andrew Fitzgerald
Andrew is an Instrumental Music and Multimedia teacher at Franklin Classical Middle School in downtown Long Beach, CA. He has been teaching for 15years, helping students discover the joy of music through performance in wind and string ensembles. He received his Bachelor\’s in Music Education from Florida State University, and recently his Master\’s degree in Educational Technology and Media Leadership from California State University Long Beach where he designed, coded, and created an online e-learning module for his capstone project. Andrew is a member of the Microsoft Innovative Educator Expert program, Microsoft\’s Surface Expert group, a CUE Lead Learner, and is a board member of the Beach Cities CUE affiliate. He enjoys figuring out the affordances of new and existing technologies, educating students and adults about EdTech, and sharing how he uses technology in the music classroom. His EdTech musing can be found on his blog and have also been featured on Microsoft\’s Education blog, Devices blog, YouTube channel, and the Daily Adventures blog. Andrew has presented sessions, workshops, and even keynoted at various Education conferences and gatherings throughout California.
He resides in sunny southern California with his wife Roxanna and two sons.
