Jennifer Mitchell


Jennifer began her instructional career in 2006 with Lamar Consolidated ISD.  During her 12 years in the district, Jennifer taught Kindergarten, 4th Grade, and was an Instructional Technology Specialist. Jennifer is now the CEO of Ed to the Max.  Jennifer loves having the opportunity to work with teachers and helping them rekindle their passion for great instruction.  She also enjoys helping teachers find innovative ways to engage and challenge students. 

Jennifer is a Microsoft Innovative Educator Expert, Surface Expert, Skype Master Teacher and Microsoft Master Trainer.  Jennifer earned a BS of Early Childhood Education from Texas Tech University Lubbock, Texas and a MS of Educational Technology and Leadership from Lamar University Beaumont, Texas.

Kelli Etheredge

Professional Learning Specialist

Kelli Etheredge is the Director for Teaching and Learning Resources at St. Paul's Episcopal School in Mobile, Alabama. In her role, she supports PK-12 teachers in effective integration of technology and innovative lesson design.  She loves helping teachers create memorable lessons that engage and challenge their students.  She is a graduate of Auburn University and Cumberland School of Law.  She is a Microsoft Expert Educator, Surface Expert, and Microsoft Master Trainer.  She is also a Minecraft Certified Trainer and a trained peer coaching facilitator. She taught high school English for 14 years.  She has taught in a 1:1 environment since 2000.  Her work with students has been featured on Copy/Paste, TeachTec, Microsoft in Education, OneNote, and Daily Edventures blogs. She has presented numerous hands-on workshops at ISTE, NCCE, AETC, and other conferences.

Melanie LeJeune

Professional Learning Specialist

Melanie is a Technology Integration Coach/Librarian at St. Louis Catholic High School.  She began her journey in education 20 years ago.  Her library experience and master's degree in Library & Information Science were instrumental in preparing her to be a tech coach.  She is also a Microsoft Innovative Educator Expert, Microsoft Certified Educator, Master Trainer, and Skype Master Teacher.  One of her favorite quotes is "I am always learning, always discovering" by Isamu Noguchi.  She loves sharing the joy of learning and discovering with teachers and students. She developed a OneNote Student Avenger program at her school in which students are tested and trained to mentor others.  When she is not at school, she enjoys being at home with her husband, 2 daughters, and golden doodle.

Lauren Pittman

Professional Learning Specialist

Lauren is a Special Education teacher from Canton, Georgia.   Lauren is the Department Head for Special Education at Holly Springs Elementary School in Canton, GA.  She has been in education for 10 years and has devoted her teaching to students with exceptionalities working in both general and adaptive special education.  She got into education after working with students with special needs during a field experience and watching the struggles her sister dealt with while working to overcome her dyslexia and dyscalculia.  She has worked to help her students in the classroom by going paperless with OneNote and the Learning Tools, helping other educators in her community leverage the power of OneNote and other Microsoft products for their students and spread the word on the significance of Learning Tools and how they help students with exceptionalities in the classroom.  

Lauren holds a bachelor’s degree from Berry College in Rome, Georgia and is an ESOL and Math Endorsed teacher.  She is currently working on completing her Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Curriculum.  Lauren is also a Microsoft Innovative Educator Expert, Microsoft Surface Expert, PBS Digital Learning Innovator and a Certified Microsoft Educator. She also works as a trainer for her school district as an MIE Trainer and sits on the Superintendent’s Technology Advisory Board.

Natasha Rachell

Natasha began her educational career in 2004 with the DeKalb County School District.  During her time there, she taught high school science (environmental science, physical science, biology and AP environmental science). She left the classroom in 2010 and joined the Department of Professional Learning as the science coach to the Math and Science Transition to Teaching program. While in the PL Department, she taught online, blended and face to face professional learning classes to teachers. Since leaving DeKalb County Schools, she has been employed with Atlanta Public Schools, first as an Educational Technology Specialist and most recently a Science Digital Learning Specialist. Natasha loves being able to share her passion of all things educational and instructional technology with fellow educators to enhance their instruction and keep their students engaged and excited about their learning!

Danielle Edmunds

Professional Learning Specialist

Danielle began her instructional career teaching high school English at a small, rural, Western New York school in 1997. Six years later, she was hired by the Brighton Central Schools, a larger, suburban district just outside the city of Rochester, NY. There she taught English for 13 years and served as the Brighton Teacher Center Director for two year before transitioning into her role as the Digital Innovations Coach.  Danielle works with sixth through twelfth grade teachers to effectively integrate technology in their lessons with the ultimate goal of enhancing, extending and enriching the learning environment.

Danielle is a Microsoft Innovative Educator Expert, a former Surface Expert, and a Microsoft Master Trainer. Danielle earned her Bachelor of Arts in English/ Secondary Education and her Masters of Science in Education/ Reading N-12 from SUNY Geneseo.  She also holds a Masters of Science in Curriculum and Instruction from The University of Scranton. Mark Grundel

Professional Learning Specialist

Mark Grundel is a former 5th grade teacher, working in public education for 12 years, first at Trenton Community Charter School and then at Woodbury City Public School District.  Mark is the founder of #MinecraftEDU a weekly Twitter chat that brings educators from across the globe together to discuss best practices in game-based learning with games like Minecraft.  Mark has been recognized for his work by his district, where he won Teacher of the Year in 2016, by Microsoft, where he was awarded MIE Expert, MIE Trainer, Skype Master Teacher, Surface Pro Expert, Minecraft Global Mentor, and Minecraft Certified Trainer. Mark has worked with Black Rocket Productions for 3 years where he has helped write and revise cutting edge, innovative curriculum that focuses on turning children from consumers of content, into the producers.  Mark has presented at the NJEA Convention, Minefaire Philadelphia, Microsoft's Educators' Summit in Redmond, Washington, developed Minecraft Trainings and MOOCs, in conjunction with Microsoft, and presented at several EdTech Conferences, Conventions, and EdCamps. Mark has led several trainings on Game-based learning, most notably multiple sessions at the Microsoft Flagship Store in NYC for NYC DOE STEM Teachers and at Temple University.  Mark will be presenting at the Games for Change Conference in NYC on July 30 - Aug 1.  Mark is also a Google Certified Educator and part of the NJ Standards Advocates, which is the local chapter of Achieve the Core.

Andrew Fitzgerald

Professional Learning Specialist

Andrew is an Instrumental Music and Multimedia teacher at Franklin Classical Middle School in downtown Long Beach, CA. He has been teaching for 15years, helping students discover the joy of music through performance in wind and string ensembles. He received his Bachelor's in Music Education from Florida State University, and recently his Master's degree in Educational Technology and Media Leadership from California State University Long Beach where he designed, coded, and created an online e-learning module for his capstone project. Andrew is a member of the Microsoft Innovative Educator Expert program, Microsoft's Surface Expert group, a CUE Lead Learner, and is a board member of the Beach Cities CUE affiliate. He enjoys figuring out the affordances of new and existing technologies, educating students and adults about EdTech, and sharing how he uses technology in the music classroom. His EdTech musing can be found on his blog and have also been featured on Microsoft's Education blog, Devices blog, YouTube channel, and the Daily Adventures blog. Felisa Ford

Professional Learning Specialist

Felisa is a veteran educator with over twenty years of experience.  She started her career as a high school Social Studies teacher with Fulton County Schools.  While working in Fulton County, she served as a Social Studies Department Chair, Curriculum Assistant Principal, and Interim High School Principal.  In 2012 Felisa transitioned to Atlanta Public Schools where she was the K-12 Social Studies Coordinator for the district.  Because of her love for technology, Felisa later became the Digital Learning Specialist for Social Studies in Atlanta Public Schools.  In her current role as DLS she gets to combine all of her passions:  technology, professional learning, and social studies. 

One of Felisa’s strengths is being a learner which is why she is always willing to share her knowledge and skills to help others learn and grow.  As a Digital Learning Specialist, Felisa provides professional learning and training for teachers and students in her district.  She loves to share tools and resources that help to create an engaging 21st Century learning environment.

Stony Evans

Mark Henkels

Mark has been a middle school math teacher for 17 years.  Mark has always enjoyed technology, writing his first program in BASIC when he was 11 in 1980-something.  He enjoys sharing his passion for technology and how it inspires ad helps others to be the best educator they can be for their students.  He loves seeing the look on students faces when they get the Aha! moment in his class and believes it is one of the most priceless rewards being an educator can offer. 

After spending some time at University of Arizona, Mark earned his BS in Math Education from East Stroudsburg University and his MS in Curriculum Instruction from University of Phoenix.  He is a Microsoft Innovative Educator Expert, Surface Expert, and Microsoft MIE Trainer.

Kristen Messer

Kristen joins the team bringing with 23 years of teaching experience including several years in kindergarten, 2nd grade and high school science. Currently she is serving as a physical science teacher at Charter High School in Manteca Unified School District and as a Technology Coordinator in which capacity she helps train MUSD’s  TK-12th grade teachers. Kristen is passionate about teaching whether it is a five-year-old or a 65-year-old. She earned her bachelor’s degree from UC Davis and her Master’s Degree from CSU Sacramento. Kristen has experience with face-to-face teaching, blended learning, project based learning, and Career Technical Education.

Summer Winrotte

Professional Learning Specialist

Summer graduated from Purdue University with a Bachelor of Science in Secondary Mathematics Education, and is currently working towards a Master of Science in Education in Learning Design and Technology.  She began her teaching career at Twin Lakes High School, where she taught various math courses (Grade 9 Remedial Math, Math Lab, Algebra 1, and Geometry).  After teaching high school for six years, she decided to teach at the junior high level (Grade 7 Pre-Algebra, Grade 8 Pre-Algebra, Algebra 1, and Honors Geometry).  She is in her 11th year of teaching, and her third year as Digital Instructional Coach.  In her role as Digital Instructional Coach, she trains school staff on digital learning and technology integration.  She also researches innovative classroom technologies, software, and web 2.0 tools used to improve student learning, instruction facilitation, and teacher productivity.  Summer enjoys teaming up with teachers to help them reach for the stars, while encouraging them to engage in facilitating learning with innovative tools and technologies.

 Summer is a Microsoft Innovative Educator Expert, Microsoft Surface Expert, Microsoft Master Trainer, and Certified Microsoft Educator.   Other than K-12 education, Summer’s hobbies include antiquing, sewing, and baking (especially when it involves family and friends).  She believes in having one non-techie hobby for every techie-hobby!  Life is balance.

Karina Bailey

Professional Learning Specialist

Karina is a passionate, creative, and dynamic Kindergarten teacher currently living in Atlanta, GA. She has been in education for 11 years and has devoted her teaching to reaching students with a creative approach while integrating technology. Her desire to become an educator was to be the teacher she so desperately needed while she was growing up. She devotes each day to inspiring students to be kind and dream big, and desires to be a catalyst for change among her colleges. Karina infuses character-learning moments into her daily teaching. Karey Killian

Karey lives in rural Pennsylvania with her husband and two daughters. They enjoy outdoor activities like hiking, biking, and campfires. She is passionate about bringing meaningful learning opportunities to her community. She loves her job because she gets to collaborate with staff and students to provide valuable lessons that instill a love for learning. Paul Wagner

Professional Learning Specialist

Paul has been in the educational field since 1999, all with Lamar Consolidated ISD.  His first 6 years saw him teaching both 3rd and 4th grade.  Since then, he has been a Digital Learning Coach for the district.  Paul enjoys working with adults and students alike.  He is at his happiest when he is in the classroom showing students and teachers how technology can enhance their learning.

Paul earned a BS of Elementary Education from Northern State University in Aberdeen, SD.  He is constantly working to master his craft by growing his PLN through Twitter and conferences.  He is a Microsoft Innovative Educator Expert, and continues to hone his skills through the Microsoft Educator Community.

Scott Titmas

Scott is a Technology Integration Specialist living and working in Old Bridge, New Jersey. He completed his Bachelors in Elementary Education and Psychology at The College of New Jersey and is currently pursuing his Masters in Learning and Technology at Western Governor’s University. In his spare time he enjoys spending time with his fiancé, Dana, and watching the Yankees.

Brittany Thoma

Brittany is a tech integration and professional development coordinator in the Western New York region for Erie 1 BOCES.
